Jason Trefanenko, CPA, CGA, CEPA

Jason received his Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2002 and established his own practice. In 2004, Jason merged his practice with Peter McLaren to form McLaren Trefanenko Inc. (MTI). Jason is currently the managing partner of MTI.
Before establishing his own practice, Jason worked in both industry and public practice. He was an Accountant for Russell & DuMoulin, Barristers and Solicitors (now Fasken Martineau) and as an Auditor for Tompkins, Wozny, Miller & Co., Chartered Accountants.
Jason currently serves on the CPABC Public Practice Committee and the CPABC Professional Development Accounting and Assurance Committee. Previously, Jason served on the CGA-BC Board of Governors, was a member of the CGA-BC Public Practice Advisory Group and also served on the CGA-BC Discipline Panel and CGA-BC Appeals Committee.
He concentrates in the areas of Corporate Income Tax, Estate Planning and Business Consulting. He is an Associate Member of the Certified Fraud Examiners and a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.
In 2013, the Certified General Accountants (CGA), the Chartered Accountants (CA), and the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of British Columbia, amalgamated to form one professional accounting designation in British Columbia, the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA).
