Heather MacLean, CPA, CGA

Heather obtained her Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation in 2011. In 2002, she graduated from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management.
She joined MTI in 2005, and is currently a Partner and the Manager of the firm’s Estates and Trusts practice area. In addition to providing personal and corporate tax and accounting services, she advises her clients on Estates and Trusts tax and accounting matters. Heather’s clients include individuals, owner-managers, lawyers, Executors, Trustees and the Public Guardian and Trustee of BC. Heather has presented on personal and Estate tax topics to various community groups.
Heather also assists the Managing Partner in leading MTI’s marketing and social media efforts. She participates in professional group discussions on LinkedIn, is a regular contributor to MTI’s blog, and can also be found on Twitter.
Heather is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Vancouver, a member of the CPA BC Membership Committee, and a Director on the Board of Directors for the Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion (BACI).
In 2013, the Certified General Accountants (CGA), the Chartered Accountants (CA), and the Certified Management Accountants (CMA) of British Columbia, amalgamated to form one professional accounting designation in British Columbia, the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA).
